DOUBLE BABY STROLLER CHOICE: TANDEM OR SIDE- BY SIDE?
The two most popular double baby stroller models are the side-by-side and tandem types. It shouldnâ??t be such a difficult decision when you take aboard all the differences. They both have their pros and cons, and you may already be leaning towards one type. This article should reaffirm your preemptive decision. If it changes your mind, then you may need to give it some more thought!
The side-by-side stroller type is much more common, but with the broad range of models available comes a reasonable concern about structure and quality. There are a lot of cheaper double baby strollers out there that you should not give a second look. Many of the more expensive strollers allow you to fit at least one car seat, which will add some portability to the setup.
A tandem double baby stroller sees one child sitting in front of the other. These are usually much narrower.
For the outdoors, you could go either way, but the side-by-side is naturally an outdoor stroller. Both kids have a great view, and usability is not really up to scratch when wheeling indoors. So shopping could become a nightmare! As they are much wider, getting through doors and other tight spaces will prove tough, so if youâ??re a park-goer, consider a side-by-side with decent shock protection or suspension and somewhat large wheels.
For the indoors, tandem strollers are recommended. They are a lot more narrow than the side-by-side type and maneuverability is much improved also on most models. Sometimes kids will argue about who gets the front seat! In most tandem types, the back seat is designed to fully recline, so this is where baby should go. If you have a toddler, it should always be in the front seat. If you have two babys, get a tandem double baby stroller that has two fully reclining seats.
Also be aware that some children donâ??t like sitting side by side. Then again, though, tandem strollers may see more kicking of seats! You know your kids well and how they interact, so youâ??ve got to take this into account.
A lot of things to think about here, so you may be slightly confused. Donâ??t be! Just go with your instinct and the average rating of reviews that a stroller has received on sites like Amazon. Chances are, if a good proportion of the reviews are positive, you will love it when it arrives at your door!
